To all Members of the BCEC,

Spring is here and I would like to update all our Members on the current status of our OPA smallFIT application.

To recap, during the OPA FIT 2.1 application window from Dec 14, 2012 – Jan 18, 2013, the OPA declared that it would approve a maximum of 200MW worth of “small FIT” solar projects (projects between 10 kW and 500 kW in size). We submitted our application during that application window.

Our application was approved on September 2, 2014. Our new completion date (COD) is September 2, 2016.

The OPA received over 4000 applications totaling approximately 825 MW! 

We were the only Toronto-based Renewable Energy co-op with school ties to win a contract offer.

In the meantime, we are:

• Developing a better BCEC website
• Renegotiating our existing roof access license rate with the TDSB
• Searching for corporate sponsors
• Reconnecting with our members and adding new ones
• Preparing for our AGM
