In Canada, nuclear power versus renewable energy as the best way to reduce carbon foot print is still a debate.

However, it looks like the U.S. is gradually phasing out of the nuclear power business.

Lifecycle costing, huge nuclear capital costs and safety issues are tilting the argument in favour of solar, wind, ground source and biofuels.
